Take the PiBoIdMo 2010 Pledge

Done and DONE! What I love most about this challenge was that it focused my inspiration and made it a habit rather than a lightning bolt. Can’t wait to take the ideas into 2011. And at the very least, I’ll keep my crit group busy. 🙂

We did it! Your help + my brain = 39 ideas!

I was so inspired by the daily postings from other struggling but successful writers that I surprised myself. I’ve come to depend on this daily writing fix/support so much that I think I’ll go back to the daily posts from November 2009. That should get me through nearly to the new year. Thank you so much, Tara, and to all the writers that took time to encourage. Hopefully this time next year I’ll have another book under my belt thanks to PiBoIdMo.

Whooo-hooo! I did it! Thanks for putting this together, Tara. And thanks to all the wonderful writers and illustrators who gave such awesome advice. It was challenging, but fun.

I’m happy dancing! Thank you so much for putting together this amazing challenge, Tara. I honestly didn’t know if I’d be able to come up with 30 ideas and complete a NaNoWriMo novel this month…but I did both! It did bug me that eight of the ideas are part of a series I came up with and only a few were really explored in detail…but after adding three ideas today, I have 30 stand alone ideas plus the eight ideas that could be part of a series. Wahoo! I can’t wait to explore them all in more detail and tackle at least seven of them for NaPiBoWriWee!

It really is amazing how many ideas hit you when you actively look for them each day.

Thank you, Tara, for the wonderful master class in writing picture books. Each day was a gem of a lesson and a point of inspiration I will return to again and again. Unfortunately, I did not complete the challenge. I fell off at Thanksgiving and never got back into it, though I do have 23 ideas on paper, so I feel good about that. I will try again next year!

Whew! Butt in chair for thirty days (and a few of those days it slid in just shy of midnight) and VOILA! 30+ ideas waiting to be worked over. I am SO stoked. I really had no idea how much fun–or how challenging–PiBoIdMo was going to be when I set out. The daily posts were great, Tara, and I thank you for *all* the thought and work you put into this for us faithful followers. And, while I’d love to win a prize, I’ve gotta say that having a file of more than 30 ideas to play with in the coming months is pretty prize-like already!

I DID IT!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you, to Tara and everyone involved. I enjoyed reading as you shared your inspirational and creative suggestions and stories. Every day you inspired, at the least, 4 new ideas in me, but most of the time I had more. The best thing, you not only inspired picture book ideas, but chapter and young adult ideas as well. I loved it, and will continue making PiBoIdMo my daily ritual. This year has held many stresses and challenges for me but PiBoIdMo turned what could have ended as a terrible year into a happy ending. Thank you!

I finished all 30 ideas plus more–and better yet, I have already started writing two of them. I needed this brainstorming to motivate me. Yippee! Hooray for the challenge. I solemnly swear I came up with more than 30 pb ideas and it’s been really exciting to go back and read them. I agree with Julia (?) I think, who said it became a habit. And it’s a habit I hope I keep. It was great -and I’m really excited about some of my ideas.

Yay Me! With life, kids and work getting in the way I managed to get 30 pb ideas in 30 day. Last year I didn’t like most of my ideas but this year I liked a lot of them and there are quite a few just screaming at me to be written. I even came up with a 31st idea on Dec 1st – almost like I couldn’t stop.

I’m happy to say that I have over 30 ideas that I can’t wait to explore. Thanks for organizing it and all the wonderful posts. I read them all they truly inspired me and kept me going. What a great way to start the new year.

After collecting all the post-its and sketchpages, (this month got a little crazy there) I found I have 38 ideas! I was afraid I wasn’t going to qualify, but collecting ideas became a way of life.
Thanks Tara for such a great challenge! I really needed this kick start to my writer’s brain. I’m excited to keep this momentum going!

Oh snap! What a great experience this has been. Thank you, Tara, for providing the platform and sparking my subconscious. Sure, some ideas are duds, but some are like fireworks in the moment before they burst and spread across the sky. But hey, why stop now? I’m in a groove, man. I just wrote down idea #34. I’m gonna do a PiBoIdYe, and keep on to 365! And developing the ideas into stories? Yesiree, I’m working on #3 and it’s a beaut. Literally, I’m moved to tears every time i get to the end. I came back to the site I think on Nov. 30 or Dec 1 to see if there was a follow up to the PiboIdMo challenge and didn’t see one, so I posted a comment that I’d finished. I see that the oath was posted Nov 30, so I don’t know how I missed it. I didn’t check back again till today and see I’ve missed the deadline to respond. Oh well….

What fun i had this month as a PiBoIdMo participant! One of my ideas had me laughing aloud for almost five minutes….can hardly wait to flesh that one out! Thank you Tara for inspiring us all!
