Every day I question why words have the effect on me that they do,and also why I find it important to collect them. Just something that can’t be ignored, and has become part of my DNA.

It’s all about finding the words and the exhilaration of working in the process.

This is a good reminder, thanks Tara. I am just beginning to feel that freedom but have yet to truly experience it in a way that fully releases my Muse. Workin’ on that. 🙂

I think being able to express one’s self through words or art is a wonderful kind of freedom. Best of all, if your work resonates with someone else, you’re able to free that person too!

Love that. I could argue with it in many ways, but when you’re in the moment, actually writing, this is the heart of it.

So true. I know of nothing else that allows me to get completely lost in time than writing — except maybe a magical hike.

Reading and writing and words are great currency for the mind. And they come in a great package in PiBoIdMo — thanks, Tara, for inventing it and for the thought provoking quotes.

There really is some sense of freedom isn’t there. Hmmm, I’d never thought of it in quite that way. Lovely.

I love this quote and I love Roald Dahl. I remember reading picture books to myself a lot, but being read to was something that only happened in school. I will never forget my third grade teacher reading us James and the Giant Peach. I went to the library and read every Roald Dahl book they had, which was 3, but it was wonderful! I love his work to this day.

I don’t feel foolish to choose to be a writer… but I feel foolish trying to do it and be a mom, wife, counselor, and all of the other things life demands. Yet if I had picked it over the others… I’d be far less inspired sooooooo maybe I am a fool after all 🙂

And for me, with foolishness and freedom comes inspiration. And that inspiration later can change one person or a whole world.

Ann Birnie – I love Mr. Dahl too. Did you know that Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was initially banned from some libraries for being “sinister”?! Go figure! I love that book!
