I fell asleep earlier and dreamt about my first book signing for THE MONSTORE. It was so glitzy and glamorous, I wanted to reenact it for you. Unfortunately, my makeup smeared onto my pillow and my hair got all matted, plus I lost my Jane Jetson mask, so these cartoon characters offered to be my cast.
But I don’t think they got it quite right. Especially that dude with the camera.

Ha! Too funny. Those cartoon characters went way off script. A classic case of actors trying to improve a writer’s work. The nerve. π

I still think he should have bought a book. And nice Ferris Bueller reference stuck in there.
Also, you’re a good dancer.

I’m glad you got the Ferris reference. But if I tried to dance like that in real life, I’d crash onto the floor!

My first book signing was like that. Except there was another author there. He writes horror/mystery/S&M. He signed a lot more books than I did.

Love this! Hope to see a lot more of that dance come June 2013.

I may need musical accompaniment. Danny Elfman would write a killer “Monstore” theme.

It actually looks a lot like many of the book signings Iβve walked past in B&N… Ouch!

I know! That’s what worries me…it’s all too eerily REAL. I mean, it’s so real, I even have the outfit she’s wearing!

Do you often carry gummy worms in your pocket?

No, but I should! (P.S. That was the Ferris Bueller reference. See the closing credits.)

You make real fears into funny videos! Don’t worry, your first booksigning will be great. Just keep those gummy worms out of your pocket!

That was hilarious!
But wait. Your planning to have a book signing in a 7-11?

Yeah, I hope this isn’t an omen of things to come…I couldn’t find a background scene that looked like a book store…this came close enough! LOL. But when I made it, my eyes were blurred and I couldn’t really see what it was. If I knew there were SLURPEES, I would have made my character throw one on the camera dude! (Or no, she probably would have thought it TOO PRECIOUS and would have drank it instead.)
